Read the film summary

Intelligence is becoming abundant. The capacity to direct it well is not. A pencil draws an orange asterisk over machine-generated text.

Most AI is built in a handful of places. But it changes the way we work and learn in every region, including yours.

A charge nurse reviews an overnight summary. Deciding what matters is still hers. A machinist checks an AI-written program. He knows what good looks like on this part. A biology teacher questions an AI explanation. Her students need to learn what to trust. An accounting-firm owner reviews a client letter. Her name goes on every one.

Deciding what matters, what good looks like, what to trust, and who is responsible. That’s Directing Intelligence.

The same work now faces a new nurse, an apprentice machinist, a younger student and a first-year associate. Most people are learning it alone. The film cites ManpowerGroup’s 2026 finding that 56% of surveyed workers reported no recent training.

“This time, access isn’t the gap. Everyone will have AI. Directing Intelligence doesn’t come with it.” The film argues that people who have not had the chance to build Human Agency are most likely to let AI take over their work.

Higher education has helped generations of people, from all walks of life, build the Human Agency they need to shape a life they value. A timeline connects land-grant institutions, the GI Bill, the call for public community colleges and today’s need for human capability.

humanskills.ai partners with a network of colleges and universities to prepare their regions for the Agency Economy. A regional map connects an institution with employers, K–12 schools, other colleges and universities, and workforce development.

A few useful answers

A partnership that
fits your institution.

Where can we begin?

Start with an employer opportunity, a focused institutional need, or both. You do not need to purchase a campus-wide license to begin a partnership conversation.

Can we begin with AI Foundations?

Yes. AI Foundations brings together Human-First AI Literacy and Human × AI Fluency for people getting started, occasional AI users and groups building shared understanding. We can help your institution shape access around the people you want to reach.

How is AI Agility different?

AI Foundations develops understanding and practical habits. AI Agility builds reusable Human × AI collaboration systems: context, instructions, ways to challenge assumptions and standards for reviewing the work. Both Foundations programs are included with AI Agility.

How do we deliver the learning?

HumanSkills provides digital asynchronous programs and live kick-offs in the agreed delivery model. Your institution administers participation and co-facilitates learning in its own context. Together, we define support and practical application.

What happens after the first conversation?

We identify the people to reach, the capability to build, who will lead and when to begin. Then we shape a focused plan together.
