RESPONSIBLE & ETHICAL AI
Intermediate Programs
Protect people. Examine evidence. Make responsibility visible.
The choices your people make with AI affect everyone who relies on their work. Build the judgment to protect people, evaluate evidence and act responsibly.
HUMAN SKILLS. PURPOSEFUL PRACTICE.
What information should you share? Which output deserves your trust? Whose perspective is missing? Practice making these choices in the context of your work, with a clear basis for proceeding, changing course or escalating a concern.
For practitioners and team leaders who need deeper judgment around privacy, evidence, fairness, policy and accountability. Responsible practice belongs in every program; this dedicated program gives it focused depth.

BRING THE LEARNING INTO REAL WORK
An AI-assisted summary of customer interviews includes an identifiable detail, an unsupported claim and a recommendation based on only one group’s experience. Before it is shared, what needs to change?
Identify the privacy, evidence and representation concerns.
Return to the source. Separate what is known from what is inferred.
Revise the brief, seek further input or pause distribution.
Record the reviewer, the reasoning and the conditions for sharing.
An illustration of applied practice.

Discuss your goalsYOUR PRACTICE COULD LOOK LIKE THIS
An AI-assisted brief makes a claim that could influence a team decision. The wording is confident, but its source and limits are unclear.
WHAT YOU COULD CARRY FORWARD
The claim, its source, what remains uncertain, the action you chose and the person responsible for the next decision.
Responsible & Ethical AI deepens professional judgment around truthfulness, verification and accountable AI-assisted work.

You want help organizing customer or team feedback. Some details could identify people, and the summary may travel beyond its original audience.
WHAT YOU COULD CARRY FORWARD
A draft note describing the permitted purpose, intended audience, information to protect and required review before the work proceeds.
The program connects privacy and data protection to everyday choices about tools, policies and human accountability.

A recommendation is based on feedback from one group, but its effects could reach others. An AI summary makes the findings sound more universal than the evidence supports.
WHAT YOU COULD CARRY FORWARD
A statement of the purpose, people affected, evidence limits, perspectives needed and the human decision that comes next.
Responsible & Ethical AI develops perspective taking, fairness and judgment alongside practical accountability.
Explore bias, judgment and accountabilityAPPLY THE HUMAN AGENCY SCALE
Use the Human Agency Scale to match involvement to the consequences. AI might organize approved material while people lead interpretation, review and consequential decisions.
An H-level describes a task or step, not a person’s ability. People retain accountability at every level. Choose the level that fits the work; no single level is the destination.

Set the purpose. Define the boundaries. Make review and ownership explicit.
